Animal Reproduction 50th anniversary

CBRA 50 years

The Brazilian College of Animal Reproduction (CBRA) celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. A milestone that we celebrate with pride and gratitude. Founded in 1974, CBRA has since then been working towards Animal Reproduction in Brazil and around the world. Since its foundation, CBRA has held the Brazilian Congress on Animal Reproduction every two years, and since 2006, the International Symposium on Animal Biology of Reproduction occurs also biannualy. Its international Journal, Animal Reproduction, was launched in 2006, and has reached a level of excellence in international scientific publications. We have also published the Brazilian Journal of Animal Reproduction since 1974. The CBRA Andrology Manual, endorsed by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, is in its 3rd edition. Furthermore, CBRA has already organized events such as the 15th International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR 2004 in Bahia, Brazil), and together with the Association for Applied Animal Andrology is organizing in 2024 the 14th 4A Biennial Conference, which will take place in Fortaleza – CE, in the month of July. Fifty years or half a century is an important age. Throughout this trajectory, CBRA has matured, expanded its activities, and consolidated itself as a scientific association that works in favor of what is most relevant for the continuous development of Animal Reproduction and the professionals and researchers who dedicate themselves to it. Times have changed, science has evolved a lot, and it has not been easy to seek and maintain excellence for all this time. But this work was carried out diligently by 16 active Boards, elected every 4 years. Each achievement, each advance, is the result of the commitment and dedication of each member of this community and its partners. We are aware of the relevance of CBRA to support the continued growth of Animal Reproduction, and we will spare no effort to maintain this quality work in the challenges that lie ahead. Our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in CBRA activities in its first 50 years!
